2009 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, $20/bottle
2009 was a warm year here in the Willamette Valley. Our 2009 Pinot Noir is ripe yet surprisingly elegant. On the nose, it is cherries with a hint of crushed raspberries. On the palate, a mouthful of more luscious, dark cherries that stay with you through the whole experience. The wine is framed by briar-patch earthiness and soft tannins. This wine is perfect for porch sitting or summer dinners made with farm-fresh produce. Our Pinot Noir is a blend of grapes from Croft-Williamson Vineyards and Apolloni Vineyards. It's pure, it's pinot, it's wonderful. 475 cases produced.
2009 Rouge Columbia Valley, $20/bottle
I am very excited about this vintage of Rouge, our traditional Rhone blend. My mouth salivates when I think of this wine-- it's luscious enough to drink without food yet its leather and spice complement barbecued meats with ease. Our Rouge is a traditional Rhone blend of Grenache 44%, Mourvedre 28%, and Syrah 28%. It hails from Alder Ridge Vineyards and McKinnley Springs Vineyards in Washington's Horse Heaven Hills AVA. This Rouge is deep ruby in color with black cherry and pepper on the nose. This wine is lush, tasting of black cherries, plums, and leather. It has an amazingly silky mouthfeel....I have to have another glass. 140 cases produced
2009 Cabernet Franc Columbia Valley, $20/bottle
Our Cab Franc is our first release of this under-appreciated, rustic varietal. How could Cab Franc be a wallflower? Its aromatics include wonderfully enticing sweet blueberries and spices. This wine is smooth with a wonderful medley of black currant, earth, and blueberries. Our Cab Franc comes from the reputed Alder Ridge Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. This wine transports me to a simpler time. 98 cases produced
2008 Croft-Williamson Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, $28/bottle
Croft-Williamson is a family-owned, certified organic vineyard in the foothills of the coastal range. This wine is a single-vineyard selection of the finest barrels from this vineyard. Aromatics of bright fruit give way to spice and earthy notes. On the palate, this wine is impressively dense and lush with dark raspberry fruit. It has a wonderful, lengthy finish that stays with you long after each sip. Enjoy this exceptional wine now or cellar it and watch it evolve. Only 65 cases produced.
2008 Apolloni Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, $28/bottle
Produced entirely from Apolloni Vineyard Pinot noir grapes. This family-owned vineyard in northern Willamette Valley produces its own fantastic wines. We have been fortunate to work with them for several years. This wine is produced from a field blend of primarily Pommard clones, with a little 667 as well. This distinctive wine reflects its small berries, tight clusters, and record low yields. An effusively aromatic wine with floral, violet qualities. It is elegantly framed, with wonderful cherry fruit and a delicate balance of acid and tannin. Enjoy this sensual wine with your best summer meals. Only 23 cases produced.
